High-barrier food pouch designed for recyclability by Dow, Syntegon, Comexi, Plastchim-T and Ticinoplast

Another great collaboration among DOW Syntegon Comexi Plastchim-T and Ticinoplast to design new PE-based, high-barrier, flexible stand-up pouches suitable to be fully recyclable.

The possibility to form and fill this PE-rich pouch at a high production rate is a step forward for the market. BOPE is a rising technology and thanks to projects like this, companies can come together and create new polyethylene films that can be customized to achieve the best possible efficiency and viable solutions for consumers.

TICINOPLAST OBTAINS ISCC PLUS CERTIFICATE

Ticinoplast continues its efforts towards sustainability and circular economy obtaining a new certificate: ISCC PLUS (lnternational Sustainability and Carbon Certification), a complete management system that offers solutions to implement and certify sustainable production chains focused on the development of a circular economy through reusing and recycling. This certificate allows Ticinoplast to reach high quality and sustainable production standards for polyethylene film manufacturing using raw materials coming from renewable sources with declaration of origin and/or recycled plastic materials following the ISCC PLUS scheme.

“Thanks to this additional certificate, we can reach our development goals faster in terms of sustainability adding to our current portfolio this new film BIOBASED coming from renewable raw materials and film coming from recyclable materials post-consumer (PCR), coming from chemical recycling, which is suitable for food contact” said Paolo Rossi MD of Ticinoplast.”

BOPE PEoneer® video release -BEST OPPORTUNITY TO PRESERVE THE ENVIRONMENT-

After a collaboration started 3 years ago Ticinoplast and Plastchim-T are glad to release this first video that shows the impressive potentiality of this new product BOPE PEoneer® . The video is mainly filming the production process describing the main features of the film. The product is 100% recyclable and designed for mono material PE structure. BOPE shows high mechanical properties and toughness with excellent sealing integrity. It’s a perfect solution to preserve food integrity in packaging reducing waste. The BOPE PEoneer® family includes 3 main product groups: LLDPE films, HDPE films and blends of LLDPE & HDPE films.

“BOPE is a breakthrough technology in flexible packaging. The joint efforts of the participants in the BOPE development will lead to recyclable flexible packaging solutions which has now become an essential request by the market” as said by our MG Paolo Rossi.

Aksakovo, Bulgaria, 18TH March 2021 – The issue of recycling and sustainability has created a major shift from multi-material and multilayer films, where they are currently non-recyclable, to mono-material films. This has created a unique set of opportunities for the packaging film sector. The collaboration between Plastchim-T and Ticinoplast has produced a ground breaking innovation – the BOPE mono-material film (part of the PEoneer® BOPE family), tailored to reduce the carbon footprint. Both companies are committed to deliver and develop the perfect blend of products and technologies that provide better performance, total product protection and recyclability. Plastchim-T’s investment in the first in the world BOPE/BOPP hybrid line from Brückner Maschinenbau, opens new down-gauging possibilities to develop our sustainable solutions even further.

“Using the PEoneer® BOPE innovation will help with the creation of more efficient and thought-through packaging products that will address the many challenges on an environmental and economic level.” – said Mr. Faik owner of Plastchim-T.

TICINOPLAST RENEWS ITS LOGO AND CHANGES ITS LEGAL ENTITY.

Ticinoplast also looks ahead during the pandemic. The historical company based in the Milan area with over 50 years of presence in the flexible plastic market has set itself important objectives to achieve in the next 5 years. The on-going transformation taking place in the sector, the need for renewal and growth, as required by a rapidly evolving market that demands products that are constantly oriented towards sustainability, as well as environmental aspects have led the company to develop new products, also thanks to international partnerships. The objectives are increasingly ambitious: the new logo and the change of its legal entity are only the first signs of a new direction that the company is undertaking.

“We are experiencing a particular historical moment, sustainability and circular economy are no longer abstract concepts but parameters to be respected in every project. For a couple of years we have been developing solutions for the design and manufacture of flexible mono-recyclable packaging and biodegradable and compostable products that can fully satisfy the need for recyclability and weight reduction of flexible packaging required by the circular economy. We strongly believe in teamwork and we are actively collaborating with important and qualified international partners in order to carry out a revolution in this field” says Paolo Rossi, CEO of Ticinoplast.

The goals to be achieved by 2030 also through the renewal and professional strengthening of the company’s team of collaborators, are oriented towards sustainable development and an economic model increasingly aiming at environmental protection. This need is now recognized by everyone and has become essential.
