Ticinoplast Srl was founded on January 13th, 1967 in Pogliano Milanese and immediately focused its production on the flexible packaging industry. During the initial period sacks and bags were manufactured, later followed by polyethylene mono-layer and multi-layer films, both for lamination of multilayer flexible packaging and protective plastic laminates.
Ticinoplast Srl has regarded plastic polymers films as an essential part of the development of civilization, because they protect, defend, wrap and keep warm, give shape to the containers, seal and hold together parts of food storage containers and different products.
Plastic films are in fact the basis for the reduction of urban waste, energy savings and food waste reduction.
Since 1992 (the year of the installation of the first machine for three layers of co extrusion polyolefin films for PE and PP called COEX1 ) the development of Ticinoplast led the company to focus almost exclusively on films for flexible packaging.
In twenty years, the growth of Ticinoplast recorded the following numbers: from 3600 T of PE film manufactured in 1991 with 6 production plants, in 2020 the company produced about 15,000 T of PE film with 9 single-layer systems up to three to 5-layer machines.

The increased attention to environmental issues and sustainability has led Ticinoplast to create products able to meet the requirements of the circular economy.
These solutions translate into the production of films designed for the production of monomaterial, compostable and renewable packaging, with and without gas and aroma barrier.
In 2020 Ticinoplast launched the nextFilm™ product range, a new generation of packaging films, that reflects the company’s commitment to the circular economy and the environment.
Today the company’s mission is focused on the continuous research for solutions that reduce the weight of packaging by decreasing the more technical thicknesses of films and the densities of expanded films.
